Audiological Society of Australia

Audiologists in Australia are represented professionally by the Audiological Society of Australia Inc (ASA). ASA was founded in 1968 and has a current membership in excess of 1000 member audiologists. ASA Full Membership requires evidence of a Master's of Audiology degree (or equivalent) with a major in Audiology. ASA members have agreed to practise audiology in accordance with the ASA Code of Ethics and Professional Standards of Practice. 

The Audiological Society of Australia works to: Pursue and promote the knowledge and practice of audiology; Promote ASA as the professional association for audiologists; Further the advancement of the member's professional interests; Promote optimum hearing healthcare in the community through quality professional assessment, rehabilitation, education and research.

Office of Hearing Services

The Office of Hearing Services manages the issuing of vouchers for eligible clients to access hearing assessments and devices from hearing service providers of their choice. It also administers the provision of hearing services for eligible clients with special needs. It is responsible for: assessment of client applications for hearing services and provision of vouchers to eligible clients; accreditation of hearing services providers (companies, partnerships, or individuals); development and monitoring of standards for clinical services; providing support to clients, practitioners and providers; coordination of quality assurance measures; and providing advice on policy and strategic directions for provision of hearing services.

Australian Tinnitus Association - ATA

The Australian Tinnitus Association (NSW) Ltd is a non-profit company established in Sydney in December 1984 and is supported by the South Eastern Sydney Area Health Service. ATA's mission is to provide information, support and counselling to tinnitus sufferers and preventative education to the wider community.

Better Hearing Australia

Better Hearing Australia is a non-profit, self-help organisation controlled by its members and provides an Australia-wide community support service of rehabilitation and help for Australia's hearing impaired. The objects of Better Hearing Australia are - To encourage the preservation of hearing of all people; To encourage the use of preventative measures to lower the prevalence of deafness and hearing impairment in the Australian community; To improve the communication of hearing impaired people, their families and friends. 

Self Help for the Hard of Hearing - SHHH

SHHH is here to help: Hearing loss is a very common problem. A hearing impairment can be very distressing to the individual, couple, family, friends, carers and workmates. However, there is so much that can be done to help people manage their hearing loss. With technology, communication strategies and coping skills, communication can be so much easier and more enjoyable.

Deafness Forum

Deafness Forum is the peak body for deafness in Australia. Established in early 1993 at the instigation of the Federal government, the Deafness Forum now represents all interests and viewpoints of the Deaf and hearing impaired communities of Australia (including those people who have a chronic disorder of the ear and those who are DeafBlind).

VEDA provides information, resources, support, and advocacy. We strive to elevate public awareness about vestibular disorders in order to promote understanding, access to diagnosis and treatment, research, and help for those facing the challenges of living with a vestibular disorder.
